Graduate School Application Details
- All applicants will be considered for Graduate Teaching
Assistantships (GTA). GTA positions cover full tuition, basic health
care coverage and pay a ten month stipend. Teaching duties of GTAs may
include supervision of undergraduate physics laboratories and/or
grading up to a total of about 20 hours per week.
- A complete application must include the following:
- Application form
- Two letters of recommendation
- Official copy of undergraduate and any graduate
transcripts
- Official GRE (general section) scores. There is no
specific minimum score required for entry, but your score may be used
to determine whether you are offered a place. The Physics GRE is not
required, but a good score will likely improve your chance of receiving
an offer.
- International students must also provide:
- Official ToEFL scores (for applicants for whom english
is a second language). Required scores are either 213 (computer based
test), 80 (internet based test) or 550 (paper based test).
- Financial declaration statement.
- If you wish to be considered for the Dillon Fellowship, which
includes the benefits of a GTA position with a larger monthly stipend, but
without the teaching responsibilities of the GTA, you must submit additional materials as described.
